Zarana (“Z” – how her friends and colleagues call her) is a founder and owner of NutriliciousbyZ, offering nutritional consultation to individuals, families, and groups. Zarana is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), licensed to practice in the state of Texas. Her inclination towards the field of nutrition started at an early age, growing up in India where food not only provided nutrients but also is used as remedies for common ailments. This interest in power of food and nutrition grew into passion as she learned about the science of nutrition. Zarana graduated with a BS (Chemistry), followed by Post-graduate Diploma in Nutrition and dietetics in India. In the USA, Zarana graduated with a BS in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Texas at South-western Medical Center.
Zarana’s professional experience spans 15 years, working with a young infant of 6 months old at the Children’s Medical Center to a young at heart 90 years old at the Nursing home and in-between. Zarana has counselled people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, learning along the way that food plays a central role in peoples’ lives around the world. Zarana’s specialties include: Wellness nutrition, Pediatric nutrition, Disease prevention and management through nutrition (Heart, Kidney, Diabetes, Epilepsy), and Vegetarian nutrition. Zarana is very passionate about helping people and families eat better and live a healthy lifestyle to increase their vitality and prevent onset of diseases. She translates comprehensive science of nutrition into simple and practical advice for her clients to create lasting results.
At home, Zarana is happily married and has 2 kids ( 9 year and 19 months); who keeps her busy. As a family, they lead an active life, whether running or biking at Campion Trail or playing sports at the park or Zumba with friends. They are foodies, love to eat; try cuisines from around the world and then experiment with these foods at home; creating Nutrilicious recipes.
